The Gyronimo / Tim Tucker Performance Pad represents a significant advancement in aircraft performance computation, specifically designed for the Robinson R44 Astro and Raven I models. This application is compatible with iPad 2, iPad Mini, and newer devices, optimized for Retina displays to ensure clarity and usability.

In collaboration with Claus Richter, founder of Gyronimo Systems, Robinson Helicopter Company’s Chief Instructor Tim Tucker has contributed his extensive expertise to develop a series of performance calculation tools for the Robinson R22, R44, and R66 series. Building upon the popularity of previously developed Robinson apps, these new tools incorporate detailed insights from Robinson’s experienced Chief Instructor, integrating both performance and navigation calculations, including weight & balance, Manifold Pressure, Vne, and IGE/OGE limits.

The Performance Pad offers rapid computation of weight & balance, performance metrics, and navigation data—furnishing critical information within seconds. It is tailored specifically to the Robinson R44 Raven I / Astro and encompasses all necessary flight performance parameters.

The interface utilizes sliders for swift adjustment of key values, facilitating quick experimentation and scenario planning for both pilots and instructors. This feature allows users to explore "what if" analyses with ease and flexibility.

The application is organized into four principal sections:

• Weight and Balance Page: Easily set personnel and baggage weights via sliders. Users can also input their email address to receive a complete Load Manifest.
• Performance Page: Based on data from the Weight & Balance section, the app calculates critical performance parameters such as OGE and IGE ceilings, density altitude, Maximum Continuous Power (MCP), 5-minute takeoff power, and Vne.
• Flight Time Page: Provides calculations for calibrated and true airspeed, true and magnetic course, wind correction angle (WCA), compass heading, ground speed, and estimated flight time for designated distances.
• Helicopter Page: Details rotor dimensions, powerplant specifications, fuel capacity with unit options (US gallons/lbs or Kg/Liter), as well as operational limitations and definitions.

Comparison with other flight computer applications reveals that no existing program consolidates all these features specifically for the R44 in a single interface.
